Track and Field Events: Distance Tim Hartung joined the Alvernia staff in October of 2018 as the Head Coach of Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & Field.

Zach joined the Alvernia staff as an assistant distance coach in August of 2016. He comes to Alvernia from Liberty University, where he was a graduate assistant for two years. Barker is a 2014 graduate of Liberty University where he competed in cross-country and track and field for four years. Zach left the Liberty University Cross Country team with All Conference Honors. He set personal bests of 25:05 in the 8k, 15:16 in the 5k, and 4:22 in the Mile. Barker still competes post collegiately and finished the Boston Marathon in 2016. He also placed 16th in the 2016 Philadelphia Half Marathon clocking a time of 1:11:55. Zach is excited to be part of the Alvernia Track and Field Coaching staff and is happy to be coaching in his hometown of Reading, PA.
