Ball State men’s volleyball welcomes Florida native Charles Norman as assistant coach heading into the 2026 season, as announced by interim head coach Mike Iandolo. “I really look forward to what Charles will bring to this program,” Iandolo stated. “While young, he has already been a head coach at every level of the game.” At Barry University, Norman demonstrated his leadership and dedication to development, beginning as a volunteer assistant coach for the women’s program in the spring of 2024 before being promoted to full-time the following summer. Norman helped the women to a 24-5 record, including an 11-match winning streak towards the end of the season, as the team earned a #18 national ranking and its third appearance in two years at the NCAA Division II Women’s Volleyball Tournament. Following his success as an assistant for the women, Norman enjoyed the honors of being selected as head coach of the men’s program heading into the Buccaneer’s inaugural season in 2025. As the sole coach of the team, Norman recruited a 19-man roster, building the second NCAA men’s collegiate program in the state of Florida.
