Matt Brady

Biography

Brady joined the Terriers in the summer of 2025 with over 35 years of coaching experience following a Hall of Fame playing career at Siena. "Matt is a tremendous addition to our program," commented head coach Joe Jones. "He brings considerable experience to our staff having achieved success not only as both a Division I head and assistant coach but also as a student-athlete. Our players will greatly benefit both on and off the court from his insights and mentorship." Owner of a combined 211 victories as a head coach with five postseason appearances season at James Madison (2008-16) and Marist (2004-08), Brady most recently served as an assistant helping High Point claim its first-ever Big South Championship and automatic NCAA berth back in March. Competing in the same conference as BU while at Siena from 1983-87, the three-time All-North Atlantic Conference honoree finished his career with 1,106 points and as the program record holder for assists with 593 total (5.2 apg). Brady quickly transitioned to the coaching profession at Rhode Island (1987-89) and later coached at Wagner (1989-93) and Saint Joseph's (1993-2004). In his final year with Saint Joseph's, Brady helped the Hawks as a No. 1 seed reach the Elite Eight during the 2004 NCAA tournament and used the successful season to earn his first head coaching job at Marist.
