Collin Zeffer is in his third season as the Brown head men’s cross country coach in the 2025-26 season. Zeffer also serves as an assistant track and field coach, distance. Most recently before coming to College Hill, Zeffer served as the Men’s Cross Country Assistant Coach at Temple University during the 2022-23 academic year. While at Temple, he coached the men’s cross country team to a sixth place finish at the 2022 American Athletic Conference Championships, as well as a 10th place finish at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals. Prior to Temple, Zeffer spent three years on staff at Rider, where he served as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s middle distance runners. He coached a pair of Broncs that earned All-MAAC honors in cross country, including Kristin Seigle in 2019 and Teagan Schein-Becker in 2021. On the track, he coached Seigle to the NCAA First Round Prelims in 2021 in the 1500 meters (4:22.45), and Schein-Becker to the NCAA Quarterfinals in the 1500m in 2022 (4:18.39). He also helped coach Tamrat Snyder, who broke the school record in the 800 meters (1:47.70) in 2022. Additionally, he coached several All-MAAC performers, conference champions, and ECAC/IC4A champions. No stranger to the Ivy League, Zeffer also served as a volunteer assistant coach at Penn from November 2016-July 2019, working with the men’s cross country program, as well as the middle distance and distance runners. Sarah Powers embarked on her career at Brown University in the Fall of 2023, following her graduation with a Master's in Sports Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) and a brief tenure at IMG Academy. During her time at FDU, she contributed to the Women's Volleyball, Women's and Men's Sprints, Jumps and Hurdles, Cross Country teams, and the inaugural season of Women's Lacrosse. Her efforts contributed to securing two NEC Conference Championships, and she coached a five-time All-American in Triple Jump. Prior to her role at FDU, Powers gained valuable experience through internships at the University of North Carolina and Duke University. She earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Exercise Science from Kean University, where she was a dedicated four-year member of the Women's Lacrosse team. At Brown, Sarah primarily supports the Women's and Men's Track and Field and Cross Country teams, as well as the Women's Fencing team. Sarah is certified with the NSCA CSCS, USAW Level 1, and Adult Mental Health First Aid. Sarah believes in a holistic approach to coaching, emphasizing not only physical performance but also mental well-being, nutrition and personal development. She is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where athletes can thrive both on and off the field.
