Biography

Directing the Cal Poly men’s basketball program’s ascendance as one of the nation’s top offensive threats, head coach Mike DeGeorge is his third season leading the Mustangs. During both of DeGeorge’s initial two seasons, Cal Poly finished among the nation’s top 10 programs for three-pointers and three-point attempts per game. Averaging 82.1 points per game both years and scoring 90-plus points 20 times in two seasons, Cal Poly has also ranked among the top 20 programs for total three-pointers. Cal Poly’s 30-win total under DeGeorge marks the program’s best two-season showing in 13 years. Wins against Stanford (2024-25) and Utah (2025-26) have provided Cal Poly a Power Four victory in each of DeGeorge’s two seasons. Featuring one of the most diverse lineups in America, Cal Poly’s roster spans seven countries and represents all six of the world’s habitable regions/continents. The 2025-26 season marked a second standout campaign under DeGeorge with Cal Poly recording its highest Big West victory total in 13 seasons while setting a new program record and finishing ninth nationally with a 78.7 percent free throw mark. The Mustangs also hit 100 points four times. Individually, guard Hamad Mousa was named to the All-Big West first team after winning the conference scoring title.
