Todd McGuinness

Biography

In his nine seasons as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Case Western Reserve University, Todd McGuinness has helped lead the program to new heights. Under McGuinness' leadership, the Spartans have recorded the three best seasons in program history and set program records for wins in three consecutive seasons from 2021-24. CWRU has made the first three NCAA Tournament appearances in program history during McGuinness' tenure, while winning the University Athletic Association Championship for the first time in 2022-23 and repeating the feat in 2023-24. Since the start of the 2021-22 season, CWRU has notched a 74-32 overall record (good for a .698 winning percentage). CWRU has gone 5-3 in NCAA Tournament play under McGuinness, reaching the Round of 16 twice (in 2022 and 2024). Of the 31 weeks in program history that the team has been ranked in the top 25 nationally by D3hoops.com, 30 have been during McGuinness' tenure. CWRU was nationally ranked throughout the entire 2023-24 season, climbing to as high as second, the highest ranking in program history, and finishing the year ranked 12th, the best final ranking ever by a Spartan team.
