Chelsey Rhodes

Biography

Rhodes will stay in Charleston and begin her second year as an assistant coach with the Cougars for the 2026-27 season. “Chelsey is a high character, hard working person,” said Butler. “She has a heart for our players and for the College of Charleston. She very quickly sold me on her desire to be a part of our staff and an ability to get things done. She has been an essential part of my transition into leading the program. Please help me re-welcome Chelsey to The College.” Rhodes helped take the Cougars to new heights during the 2025-26 season as the Cougars won two conference titles and made the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. Before winning the 2026 CAA Tournament, the Cougars went 16-2 in CAA play and won the 2025-26 CAA Regular Season Championship by three games. She helped guide four Cougars to Coastal Athletic Association postseason honors for the 2025-26 season. Charleston won three major awards as Taryn Barbot earned the CAA Player of the Year award for the second year in a row, Grace Ezebilo garnered the Defensive Player of the Year award and Head Coach Robin Harmony was named the CAA Coach of the Year. Additionally, Taylor Barbot made the All-CAA First Team.
