Chris Willis became the head coach of the Davidson volleyball program at the start of the 2011 season. He is currently in his 15th season as head coach. Willis capped off one of the strongest four-year periods in program history at the end of the 2024 season. Over the last four years, the Wildcats posted a 72-49 overall record and 46-24 conference regular season record. The 'Cats finished fourth in the A-10 during 2023, led by senior libero Bella Brady, who captured her third consecutive Libero of the Year honor from the conference. In addition to Brady's major award and First Team All-Conference honors, Willis also coached Sola Omonije '24 and Elena Garcia-Guerrios '27 to Second Team and All-Rookie honors, respectively. During the 2022 campaign, the Saint Louis native guided his program to arguably the most successful season in school history.
