Biography

John McCausland was hired as the Director of Basketball Operations at DePaul in April 2024 and has worked alongside Coach Chris Holtmann since 2017. He directs the day-to-day operations of the program and acts as the main liaison to the athletics department and university. John earned his undergraduate degree in finance from Ohio State in 2019 after working four years as a student manager. Following graduation, McCausland spent the 2019 NFL season in Football Operations with the Cleveland Browns assisting in all aspects of day-to-day team operations. He returned to OSU as a graduate assistant for the 2020-21 season and graduated with a Masters in Sport Management in the spring 2021. John was hired as a program assistant for the Buckeye basketball team in 2021. The northeast Ohioian served as a batboy for the Cleveland Guardians from 2014-19 including working with the Chicago Cubs in the 2016 World Series and in 2019 MLB All-Star Game.
