Jonathan Brewer

Biography

Jonathan Brewer joined the Blue Devil gridiron program in December 2023 and serves as the Hall Family Offensive Coordinator. Brewer also coaches Duke’s quarterbacks. Brewer previously worked under Manny Diaz at the University of Miami, where he spent two seasons (2020-21) as a senior offensive quality control coach. The 2025 offensive season Brewer helped author is one of the finest in Duke history as it helped pave the way for the program’s first outright ACC Championship since 1962, a Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl victory, nine victories in consecutive years for the second time in Duke history and a sweep of in-state ACC opponents for the second year in a row. The offensive unit set the program record for total touchdowns scored (63), points scored (484) and pass efficiency (152.53) and became the first in school history to have a 3,000-yard passer, 1,000-yard receiver and 1,000-yard rusher. Brewer’s work with quarterback Darian Mensah rewrote the Blue Devil record book as Mensah set Duke single-season highs for passing yards (3,973), pass completions (334), pass attempts (500), passing touchdowns (34), pass efficiency (153.59) and touchdown-to-interception ratio (5.67-1).
