Megan Rottler Hattori

Biography

Megan Rottler Hattori is the Associate Director of Sports Performance for Olympic Sports at Duke University, a position she assumed in 2024 after serving as the Assistant Director of Sports Performance since July 2017. She is the primary sports performance coach for the women's soccer and volleyball teams. Before her tenure at Duke, Rottler Hattori was the Associate Director of Strength and Conditioning at Harvard University. There, she was responsible for the strength and conditioning programs of various sports, including men's and women's diving, women's lacrosse, women's rugby, softball, women's volleyball and men's rowing, and also assisted with the football and women's basketball programs. Her career in sports performance began at Southeast Missouri State University, where she initially worked as a graduate assistant before transitioning to a full-time role. Originally from Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Rottler Hattori earned her master's degree in Sports Management from Southeast Missouri State University. She holds certifications from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) and the United States Weightlifting Organization (USAW). Besides her coaching responsibilities, Rottler Hattori is a CSCCa-approved mentor and directs Duke's Sports Performance Coaching Assistantship/Internship Program. She also coordinates the annual Bench 2 Beat Cancer fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting patients and families of the Duke Cancer Center.
