Head Coach
Matthew Jabs returned to East Carolina as the women’s swimming and diving head coach in February 2021 after previously serving as the head coach for the Pirates’ men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs from 2017-20. Both programs were discontinued at the conclusion of the 2019-20 season, but the women’s program was reinstated in January 2021. Under his guidance, the men’s program captured its fourth American Athletic Conference championship in 2020 and he was recognized as Coach-of-the-Year along with his staff. During his seven seasons as ECU’s Head Coach, his teams compiled a combined dual meet record of 69-31 (M 16-9 in four seasons, W 53-22 in seven seasons). The Pirates set 76 school records and won 29 American Athletic Conference championship events with 50 all-conference athletes accumulating 85 all-conference performances. ECU set multiple championship records and registered numerous NCAA “B” qualifying standards, with five athletes receiving an invitation to the NCAA Championships. More than 100 ECU all-time top 10 performances have been recorded during his tenure as head coach. Jabs was a member of ECU Hall of Famer Rick Kobe’s coaching staff for 17 seasons before taking over the reins of the program. He began his collegiate coaching career as a volunteer assistant at ECU before becoming a graduate assistant in 2001. Alex Keddie
Alex Keddie was appointed as East Carolina University Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance on March 1, 2019. Keddie has direct leadership and oversight of ECU's compliance program which includes risk management monitoring, preparing and submitting NCAA and American Athletic Conference waivers and appeals, investigating and submitting violations, while also reviewing and updating policies and procedures for ECU Athletics. As a member of the ECU Athletics' Leadership Team, she also oversees the ECU NIL Taskforce and SABRE Program and serves as the sport administrator for two sport programs (Women's Swimming and Diving and Women's Lacrosse). The appointment marks a return to the ECU campus for Keddie, who served two roles in the athletics compliance division beginning as a graduate assistant in 2012 before departing as the unit's compliance coordinator in 2015. Keddie most recently was director of compliance at North Carolina since July 2018 where she was responsible for rules education and interpretation for all 28 varsity programs, the Rams Club, athletics department staff and other university officials. Additionally, she served as the secondary sport administrator for the Tar Heels men's soccer program and was a member of the CARE (compliance, academics, registrar and eligibility) committee. Grady Dillon
Grady Dillon was hired as an Assistant Director of Media Relations in August 2022. Dillon oversees media relations for the men's basketball, softball and women's swimming and diving programs. A 2020 graduate of East Carolina University, Dillon recently earned his master's in Sports Administration at the University of Louisville while serving as a graduate assistant in the athletics department for sports information. In his role, Dillon assisted with coverage of the Cardinals' 22 sports including postseason coverage of women's basketball, volleyball and baseball. During the spring, Dillon served as the primary contact for men's tennis and covered the team in the 2022 ACC Men's Tennis Tournament and 2022 NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament. Dillon also served as the editor of the football and men's basketball digital game programs. The Greenville, N.C. native earned his degree in Communication while at ECU, where he assisted the media relations department with football, men's and women's basketball and baseball through his four years as a student. During his senior year, Dillon was an intern with the ECU News Services office and wrote monthly feature stories called 'Pirate Profiles', which highlight outstanding students and faculty at the university.

Kassy Mosley
Kassy Mosley was named assistant athletic trainer at ECU on August 13, 2018. Mosley previously served as an assistant athletic trainer for the women's soccer, women's basketball and men's lacrosse programs at Chowan University from August 2016 to May 2018. Mosley was also the supervisor for undergraduate practicum interns. Prior to her time at Chowan, Mosley was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Barry University from August 2014 to June 2016, working with the women's soccer, women's basketball and women's rowing teams. She was the preceptor for Barry's Athletic Training Education Program. Mosley earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training from ECU in 2013 before completing a master's degree in injury and sports biomechanics (athletic training) from Barry in 2016. She is BOC certified as well as a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association and the North Carolina Athletic Trainer's Association.
