Two-time NBA champion and former FSU player Luke Loucks was named Florida State's men’s basketball head coach on March 9, 2025. Loucks brought a wealth of knowledge and experience in professional, collegiate and international basketball. He specializes in on-court instruction and player development and most recently served as an assistant coach with the Sacramento Kings after spending time on staff with the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns. In his first season, Florida State posted an 18-15 record with a 10-8 mark in the ACC to set the program record for conference wins by a first-year head coach. The Seminoles displayed solid improvement over the course of the season, winning seven of their final eight games, and 10 of 12, before falling 80-79 to No. 1-ranked Duke in the ACC Tournament quarterfinal. FSU's winning torrent over the final month of the season included a school-record five consecutive ACC road victories. Louck's first team showcased an exciting brand of basketball as FSU led the ACC in turnovers forced per game and ranked second in the conference in turnover margin, steals, three-pointers made, and three-pointers attempted. The Seminoles had the conference's third-highest bench points average and were fourth in free throw attempts per game. Florida State head men’s basketball coach Luke Loucks has named Chris Kent as the Director of Player Development on his first Seminole staff. Kent began his coaching career as an assistant coach for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA D-League from 2013 to 2015. He then served as a graduate assistant for the Florida State University men’s basketball program from August 2015 to May 2017 before joining the University of South Florida (USF) men’s basketball program in June 2017 as the team’s Director of Player Development. In 2018, Kent joined the Chicago Bulls as a coaching intern for the 2018-19 season. Following his internship, he was hired as the team’s video coordinator. He later transitioned to the Windy City Bulls, the Chicago Bulls' G League affiliate, serving as an assistant coach during the 2022-23 season. He was an assistant coach from 2023 to 2025 with the Portland Trail Blazers G-League affiliate, the Rip City Remix. Kent played college basketball for two seasons at both Huntington University (Ind.) and Trine University (Ind.), bringing firsthand playing experience to his coaching career.

While he played just three seasons as a Seminole (2009-11), he ranks in the top-25 of three different career statistical categories: assists (308 career assists, 18th), steals (133 career steals, tied for 19th), and games started (82 career starts, tied for 24th). Kitchen earned his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary social studies from Florida State on April 30, 2011 after leading the Seminoles to the NCAA Tournament in 2009 (first round), 2010 (first round), 2011 (NCAA Sweet 16) and to 70 overall victories. He helped lead Florida State to the ACC Tournament championship game in 2009 for the first time in school history. Kitchen averaged 8.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.5 steals in 91 games as a Seminole. He averaged his career-high of 10.4 points, a career-high 5.8 rebounds, and a career-high 1.6 steals as a senior in 2011. With Kitchen in Florida State’s starting line-up, the Seminoles were the third winningest program in the ACC in both overall games and ACC games only from 2009-11. Jim Moran was introduced by Luke Loucks as the associate head coach for the Florida State Seminoles for the 2025–26 season. Moran brings over a decade of NBA and developmental league coaching experience to the Seminoles' bench. Most recently, Moran has served as an Assistant Coach for the Sacramento Kings under Head Coach Mike Brown since 2024. Before that, he was the Head Coach of the Rip City Remix (2023–2024), the G League affiliate of the Portland Trail Blazers. From 2021 to 2023, he worked as an Assistant Coach for the Detroit Pistons under Dwane Casey. Moran spent a significant portion of his early coaching career with the Portland Trail Blazers, first as an Associate Video Coordinator (2014–2015) and later as an Assistant Coach (2015–2021) under Terry Stotts. He began his coaching journey as a Player Development Coach with the Maine Red Claws during the 2013–2014 season. Moran played collegiately at William & Mary, while earning his bachelor’s degree in sociology.

Michael Fly joined Florida State University as an assistant coach in 2025 for the 2025-26 season. He comes to Florida State after serving as the associate head coach at Jacksonville University from 2023 to 2025.
