In her second season as head coach, the Rummel-led GCU squad finished the season 23-11 with eight wins over ranked opponents and a No. 13 national AVCA ranking. The Lopes earned two All-Conference honors and six AVCA Top Flight All-American awards across multiple pairs. GCU also went 7-0 at home during the season. During her first year at the helm, Rummel coached the Lopes to four straight wins to open the season as well as two CCSA All-Academic athletes, two CCSA All-Tournament team members, two All-CCSA athletes, and two CCSA All-Freshman team members. The Lopes also took down No. 6 LSU in a neutral site match. Rummel was named head coach in June 2023 after three years as an assistant coach for the nationally ranked Lopes. Rummel has helped lead GCU to national prominence with the Lopes qualifying for back-to-back NCAA tournaments and ending in the nation's top 10 in all three of her seasons on staff. Claudia Rodwell
Claudia Rodwell joined the GCU sports medicine team as an assistant athletic trainer in the summer of 2022. In her role, Rodwell provides athletic training services to the Lopes' beach volleyball and cross country programs. Prior to GCU, Rodwell worked at Texas State as a graduate assistant and provided sports training services to the women's volleyball program. A native of Puyallup, Washington, Rodwell graduated from Eastern Washington with a Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training in 2020. While at Texas State, she completed a Master's of Science in Exercise and Sports Science in 2022.

Jacob Lawrence
Lawrence joined the Lopes as Graduate Assistant in the Sports Performance department in July 2023. The Spokane, Washington native graduated from GCU receiving his bachelor's in Exercise Science and Sports Performance. He oversees beach volleyball, men's golf and swim and dive as the sports performance coach. Lawrence helped train swimmer Carter Dooling who qualified for the 2026 NCAA Swimming Championships, marking the first Lope since 2016 to qualify. Lawrence assisted the men's volleyball team in a historic 2024 season. The Lopes made strides, landing their first ever AVCA 1st team All-American (3), the program's first time ranked No. 1. He also helped the Lopes to their first MPSF Championship victory and the first program win in the NCAA tournament.

Coronado enters his fifth year with the Lopes in the 2026-27 season. Coronado joined the GCU Beach Volleyball staff as a Volunteer Coach in the fall of 2022; in his first year on the staff the Lopes posted a 26-8 record, finished second in the Coastal Collegiate Sports Associataion (CCSA), and earned their second at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. During his time there, they sent over 93 athletes to NCAA Division 1 programs and earned recognition as the #1 beach volleyball club in America in both 2020 and 2021. Matt was honored to be named one of the AVCA’s “Best Coaches 30 Under 30” in 2018.
