Head Men's Soccer Coach
Georg Montag will enter his 21st season with the Holy Family men's soccer program in 2025, the previous 13 of which have been as the head coach. Montag became the fifth head coach in program history on Nov. 30, 2011, after serving seven years as the head assistant coach. During that span, the Tigers were 73-55-10 and advanced to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Match twice. Holy Family has had a winning league record and qualified for the CACC Tournament in five of the previous seven seasons, advancing to the semifinals four times. The 2022 season was one of the best in program history, as HFU set a program record with nine CACC victories and tied another with a second place finish in the regular season standings. HFU's 12 overall wins were its most since 2007. All that led to Montag winning his first career CACC Coach of the Year award. Montag had a stellar playing career as a four-year starter at nearby La Salle University, where he was a three-time All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and three-time All-Soccer Seven selection. A two-time Regional All-American, he ended his career as the program's all-time leader with 97 points, 37 goals and 23 assists. Holmes joined the men's soccer staff ahead of the 2021 season, following a two-year playing career for the Tigers. In his first season on the staff, HFU's eight overall wins and six Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victories were tied for its second most over the last 10 years. The 2022 season was one of the best in Holy Family history, as the Tigers set a program record with nine CACC victories and tied another with a second place finish in the regular season standings. HFU's 12 overall wins were its most since 2007. Holmes was a two-year starter and captain for Holy Family in 2018-19, helping lead the Tigers to the CACC Tournament in each of those two seasons, including the semifinals in 2019. The 2019 team's 11 wins were the Tigers' most since 2011. A 2019 All-CACC First Team selection, Holmes was named the Northeast Times Athlete of the Year and was an All-CACC Academic Team member and member of the National College Athlete Honors Society. Holmes graduated from Holy Family in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Management-Marketing. He began his collegiate career at Harcum, where he was also captain while working towards his associate's degree.
