Andrew Poore

Biography

Andrew Poore completed his ninth year assistant coach with the Hoosiers in 2023 after a successful career as a student-athlete and volunteer coach for the program. He earned seven All-America honors and two Big Ten Championships during his time at IU. Poore, a 2012 Indiana University graduate, is the recruiting coordinator and assists with distance runners. Indiana (2014-Present) The 2024 cross country season saw three USTFCCCA All-Region performers, two on the men’s side in Abe Eckman (12th) and Skylar Stidam (22nd) with Mariah Wehrle (19th) leading the women’s squad. In 2023, the Hoosiers finished the season with an eighth (men) and 11th (women) place finishes at the Big Ten Championships. Both teams improved at the 2023 NCAA Great Lakes Regional finishing seventh (men) and 10th (women). Skylar Stidam had great development in his final track and field season. He set the 10,000-meter school record with a time of 28:32.41, that was previously set by coach Poore in 2011. Stidam also won the Big Ten Outdoor 5,000-meter title and finished fourth in the 10k at the Big Ten conference championships. Stidam later qualified for his first NCAA Championships after finishing fifth at the NCAA East Prelims in the 10,000 meters. He earned USTFCCCA Honorable Mention honors after finishing 23rd at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The 2023 campaign saw a handful of breakout runners including first-year athlete Claire Overfelt.
