Guesseppe Rea is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Lehigh women’s wrestling program. A Division II NCAA All-American for Wilkes University, Rea competes internationally for Ecuador and has competed in freestyle at three Senior World Championships. In Lehigh's first year as a varsity program, Rea helped guide the Mountain Hawks to a 15-2 dual meet record and a Super Region 2 team title. The Mountain Hawks qualified five wrestlers for the inaugural NCAA Women's Wrestling Championships, with Audrey Jimenez winning a NCAA title at 110 and Aubre Krazer and Abbi Cooper earning All-America honors. Jimenez went on to win the NWCA's NCAA Wrestler of the Year award and USA Wrestling's Anthony-Maroulis Trophy as the nation's top women's wrestler. All-American Aubre Krazer was the Super Region 2 Rookie of the Year. Rea is no stranger to Lehigh as he trains with the Lehigh Valley Wrestling Regional Training Center that operates out of the Caruso Complex in Grace Hall. He comes to Lehigh after spending the last seven seasons on the coaching staff at Muhlenberg College. Working primarily with Muhlenberg’s lightweights, Rea coached three All-Americans, 20 NCAA qualifiers and 12 Centennial Conference champions at Muhlenberg. Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Rea competes internationally for his native country at 57 kg. He made Ecuador’s Senior World Team in 2021, 2024 and 2025.
