Odom is rejoining forces with head coach Jeff Lebby after the two coached together at Central Florida in 2018 and 2019. Their paths also crossed at Baylor when Odom was a player, and Lebby was on the coaching staff. Odom comes to Starkville after spending the previous two seasons at New Mexico State as the defensive backs coach. He helped the Aggies reach back-to-back bowl games for the first time since 1959 and 1960. Prior to his time in Las Cruces, N.M., Odom spent two seasons at Eastern Illinois coaching the defensive backs. David Underwood was hired in Starkville in January 2024. He came from Houston where he spent the 2023 season as the Assistant Strength and Performance Coach. Before Houston, Underwood spent two years at TCU as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach, primarily working with its football program, as well as the cross country and baseball teams. Prior to that, he spent one year with SMU's football program. From 2018-2021, Underwood served as an assistant strength and conditioning and running backs coach at Lewisville High School in Lewisville, Texas. While coaching on the high school level, Underwood started his own business, Mach 5 Sports, in Dallas, Texas. In 2010, Underwood served as head strength and conditioning coach and varsity running back coach at Richardson Canyon Creek Academy. Underwood started his career as a strength coach at Michigan, assisting the director of strength and conditioning with the daily operations for men's football, basketball and hockey. Prior to his career in strength and conditioning, Underwood spent time in NFL Training Camps with the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills as a running back. He was a four-year letterwinner in football at Michigan from 2001-05.

Gerri Green was named the Director of Community Engagement and Former Player Relations by head coach Jeff Lebby on Dec. 5, 2023, and will be one of three staff members tasked with leading a new program called D.A.W.G. D.A.W.G. stands for ‘Developing A Winning Gameplan’. The new program created by head coach Jeff Lebby is designed to show the commitment that Mississippi State has to ensure its current players find success on and off the field while also ensuring our former players know they always have a home at Mississippi State. Green played linebacker and defensive line for Mississippi State from 2015 through 2018 ahead of an NFL career that included stops with Indianapolis, New England, Washington, Las Vegas, Tennessee and Chicago. He rejoined the MSU program for the 2023 season as coordinator of player development.

Greg Knox, an SEC coaching veteran, was named the Director of Career & Professional Development by head coach Jeff Lebby on Dec. 5, 2023, and will be one of three staff members tasked with leading a new program called D.A.W.G. Knox is currently in his second stint at Mississippi State. He was an assistant coach for MSU from 2009 through 2017 before returning ahead of the 2023 season as a senior offensive analyst. Knox has twice served as the interim head coach at State, first leading the Bulldogs to a win over Louisville in the 2017 TaxSlayer Bowl, then guiding the team over the final two contests of 2023, which included a victory over instate foe Southern Miss. A Rosebud, Texas, native, Knox has 35 years of coaching experience, including 28 years in the SEC. He spent the 2022 season at Buffalo as running backs coach. Prior to that, he served four seasons as running backs coach and special teams coordinator at Florida, transforming the Gators' backfield and special teams units. Former Mississippi State and All-SEC linebacker Jett Johnson returns to Starkville in 2026 as the programs new linebacker analyst following a two-year stint as the assistant linebackers coach at UConn in 2024-25. Johnson began his coaching career at UConn in 2024, under the guidance of Mississippi State co-defensive coordinator Matt Brock, who Johnson played under during his time at Mississippi State. A graduate of Mississippi State, Johnson was a standout linebacker for the Bulldogs, appearing in 45 career games with 31 starting assignments, totaling 336 career tackles with 8.0 sacks. He led the SEC in total tackles (115) in 2022 and finished second in the league in 2023 (130). He was an AP All-SEC second team choice in 2023 and a first team College Football Network All-SEC pick that same season. He was also twice named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Paul Rhoads was named Mississippi State’s Senior Defensive Analyst on December 30, 2024. Rhoads is a well-respected veteran defensive coach with more than 30 years of experience as a head coach, defensive coordinator and position coach, including multiple stops inside the SEC. He's developed numerous All-Conference performers and NFL Draft picks along the way, most notably Darrelle Revis – an NFL Hall of Fame cornerback, four-time All-Pro selection and the 2009 AFC Defensive Player of the Year. Revis was the 14th overall pick by the New York Jets in 2007 after playing for Rhoads when he was the defensive coordinator at Pitt. Rhoads boasts extensive experience as a head coach at Iowa State (2009-15) and a defensive coordinator at Pitt (2000-07), Arkansas (2017), Auburn (2008) and Arizona (2020). He's also been a position coach at a number of stops, including Boston College (2023), UCLA (2018-19), Arkansas (2016) and Iowa State (1995-99). Rhoads spent the fall of 2022 as the defensive coordinator at Gulf Shores High School in Alabama, where he helped Gulf Shores to an 11-2 season, while earning Alabama 5A Assistant Coach of the Year. He was an analyst on Ohio State head coach Ryan Day's staff in 2021. Shaud Williams was named Mississippi State’s head strength and conditioning coach on December 4, 2023. Williams joins head coach Jeff Lebby’s staff after spending the last six seasons (2018-23) at Oregon as the top assistant strength and conditioning coach. He helped the Ducks win 56 games, capture a pair of conference championships and reach bowl eligibility in all six of his seasons. Prior to his time in Eugene, he served as assistant strength and conditioning coach at Wisconsin in 2017. A native of Andrews, Texas, Williams began his coaching career at his alma mater, Andrews High School, where he worked with the football, men’s basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball and women’s basketball teams. Williams played college football and baseball at Texas Tech and Alabama. Following his college playing days, Williams signed with the Buffalo Bills in 2004. He enjoyed a four-year NFL career before also playing with the Florida Tuskers and Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League. As a running back at Alabama, Williams led the SEC in rushing as a senior in 2003 by racking up 1,367 yards and scoring 14 touchdowns. He ran for 921 yards and five scores as a junior for the Crimson Tide, averaging 7.1 yards per carry. Williams’ college career began at Texas Tech, where he was named Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year in 1999 after rushing for 658 yards and seven touchdowns.
