Assistant Coach
Eddie Larios joined Northwestern University as an Assistant Coach for the Swimming program in May 2024. Larios joined Northwestern following a successful tenure as associate head swim coach at Duquesne University, where he was part of a staff that helped produce a second-place finish at the A-10 Championships and six NCAA "B" standard times. As a team, the Dukes broke seven school records, including one A-10 Championship record. Larios, who specializes in working with sprint swimmers, joined the Duquesne swimming and diving coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach in August 2021. He was promoted to a full-time assistant in June 2022. Larios brings more than a decade of coaching experience at the collegiate, high school and club levels. Prior to Duquesne, he served as an assistant coach at Moon Area High School and worked as an assistant coach with Steel City Aquatics. At the collegiate level, Larios served as an assistant coach at Boise State from 2012-15 as well as a camp coach and counselor at both Stanford University and the University of Georgia in 2014-15. He helped the Boise State women to a Mountain West Conference championship in 2014 as well as a pair of runner-up finishes in 2013 and 2015. All told, nine Bronco swimmers qualified for the NCAA Division I Championship during those seasons. Larios graduated from Boise State in 2014 with a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis on exercise science.

Margaret Howe joined Northwestern University as an Assistant Coach for the Swimming program in August 2023, bringing a decade of diverse and accomplished coaching experience. Prior to her arrival in Evanston, Howe spent seven seasons at Providence College as an Assistant (2016-2021) and later Associate Head Swim Coach (2021-2023), overseeing a meteoric rise that included seven consecutive seasons of school records broken, including two separate seasons in which the full slate of men's team relay records were reset. The Friars broke 83 school records during Howe's tenure, and three were crowned Big East Champions in 2021 and 2023 in four different events, which were the first from Providence since 1985. She was part of the 2021 Big East Swimming & Diving Coaching Staff of the Year. Her leadership experience also includes a distinguished season as the Head Coach at St. Joseph's College in Maine (2015-16 NCAA season). During her tenure at St. Joe's, she propelled her team to an impressive runner-up finish at the GNAC Conference Championships, the highest in the women's team's history. Howe was instrumental in guiding the program to its inaugural ECAC Championships qualifier and led the Monks to seven new school records. Howe competed collegiately for Boston College, graduating in 2010 with BAs in Communication and Theater. She holds a Master's Degree in Higher Education from Providence College and lives in Chicago.

McDonald begins his coaching career at Northwestern after an impressive five-year collegiate swimming career at Ohio State. As a Buckeye, he competed in three NCAA Championships from 2023-25. He produced a Second-Team All-American performance as a member of the program's 400 free relay in 2024, and he also contributed to a pair of All-American Honorable Mentions this spring in the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay at the 2025 championships. In 2024, he qualified for the 50 free US Olympic Team Trials at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. "We're excited to welcome Mario to our staff," Stratton-Mills said. "Coming off an accomplished career in the Big Ten, he brings a firsthand understanding of what it takes to succeed at the highest level of our conference. His perspective, energy, and passion for the sport will be a great asset as we continue to elevate our program." The freestyle specialist also racked up several scholar-athlete awards in Columbus. He received Academic All-Big Ten honors from 2021-25, was named Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2023 and 2025 and was a two-time CSCAA Scholar All-American Honorable Mention. Rosendahl, a two-time national champion and six-time All-American at Northwestern, returns to Evanston after most recently serving as Director of Operations for USA Diving. "It's incredibly special to welcome Olivia back to Northwestern," Stratton-Mills said. "She is one of the most accomplished athletes in our program's history and has continued to make an impact on the sport at the national level. Our divers will benefit tremendously from her experience, perspective, and passion for this program, and I know she will be an outstanding mentor for our student-athletes." During her four-year career with the Wildcats, Rosendahl put together one of the most polished diving resumes in Northwestern history. When the Los Angeles native arrived on campus for her freshman season in 2015, she took the Big Ten diving world by storm, leading the Wildcats in the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform events. The four-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week reached the championship finals at the Big Ten Championships in all three events and qualified for the NCAA Championships in 1-meter and platform.
