Haumacher begins his second season with Princeton in 2024. Princeton improved to 24 victories in 2023, a turnaround of 17 victories, one of the most in the NCAA. The Tigers finished third in the conference, earning a berth in the Ivy Tournament, reaching the championship game. The Tigers had seven All-Ivy selections highlighted by Scott Bandura and Tom Chmielewski's first team honors. Chmielewski saw improvements last season in ERA (3.40), wins (six), complete games (three), shutouts (two), innings (76.2), runs allowed (38), strikeouts (74) and hitters' batting average against (.246). Honorable Mention All-Ivy honoree Jacob Faulkner broke the Princeton single season record for appearances with 26, while earning three wins and six saves in 2023. Haumacher comes to Princeton after spending three years with the Baltimore Orioles and the No. 1 farm system in Major League Baseball. On the field, Haumacher used industry leading technology to develop players from seven different countries as an affiliate pitching coach. Off the field, he collaborated with scouting on amateur draft player acquisitions and helped design the department’s in-house delivery model for MLB Draft prospects. A native of Middlesex, New Jersey, Haumacher played NCAA Division-I baseball at Wofford College and Old Dominion University, where he earned his Bachelor of Art degree in Communication in 2011.
