John Mark Andrade

Biography

John Mark Andrade enters his 16th season coaching at Providence College. Andrade spent his first four seasons as an assistant coach and was promoted to the position of Associate Head Coach on Dec. 12, 2012. Prior to coaching under Head Coach Craig Stewart, Andrade spent the previous three seasons as an assistant coach for Chaka Daley. In 2024, Andrade assisted the Friars to their 12th NCAA Tournament appearance where they reached the Second Round. Andrade helped the squad reach the BIG EAST Championship game and earn the title of BIG EAST East Division Regular Season Co-Champions. He also helped the team to 13 victories. In 2023, Andrade helped the Friars to a BIG EAST Semifinal appearance with the team finishing 8-6-3 overall and 4-2-2 in conference play In 2022, Andrade helped steer the squad to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen for the fourth time in program history. He also helped coach the Friars to their 15th BIG EAST Semifinal and sixth BIG EAST Championship Game appearance. Andrade assisted the team to a 12-5-4 overall record including a 5-2-3 mark in BIG EAST play. In 2020-21, Andrade helped the team to a 4-4-1 overall record including a 3-3-1 mark in BIG EAST play. The season was abbreviated due to the COVID-19 pandemic that canceled fall 2020 play. In 2019, Andrade assisted the Friars to their 10th appearance in the NCAA Tournament where they reached the Sweet Sixteen. Andrade helped the squad to reach the BIG EAST Championship game.
