Head Softball Coach/Scheduling Coordinator
Carolyn Biel will begin her second season leading the Regis College Softball program at the start of the 2025–26 academic year. She officially assumed the role of head softball coach and athletics scheduling coordinator on Monday, August 19, 2024. Program Honors 2x GNAC All-Conference Honorees 6x GNAC All-Academic Honorees 1x Regis-Casserly Award Recipient Notable Achievements In her first season, coached Bianca Burke who would become all time leader in hits, triples, and runs in the course of the 2025 season. Prior to Regis Biel served as an Assistant Softball Coach at Central Connecticut State University during the 2023–24 season, where she coached, mentored, and supported the development of student-athletes. She helped guide the team to a 28–19 record and an appearance in the championship round of the 2024 NEC Softball Tournament. In addition to coaching duties, she also worked as a Sports Information Intern for the athletic department. Since 2019, she has served as Director of Softball Operations at DiamondZone in North Haven, Conn. In this role, she has coached and developed aspiring collegiate softball players while also managing facility scheduling, customer service, and travel logistics for club teams. Bianca Burke returns to Regis College as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2025-26 season following a record-breaking playing career with the Pride. One of the most decorated student-athletes in program history, Burke graduated as the school’s all-time leader in career hits (166), runs (103), and triples (18). She also set single-season records in hits (56), triples (7), and tied her own program-best mark of 33 runs scored in a season. During her senior campaign, Burke led the team in nearly every offensive category, including batting average (.438), on-base percentage (.478), slugging percentage (.602), hits (56), runs (33), and stolen bases (13). She closed the 2025 season on a 22-game hitting streak that featured 10 multi-hit performances. Defensively, she was flawless, recording 86 putouts and three assists on 89 chances for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. A consistent force throughout her career, Burke earned multiple honors, including the Regis Casserly Female Award, Second Team All-GNAC recognition, and multiple College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections. Bio Maggie Baker joins Regis College as an assistant coach for the Pride softball program in the spring of 2026. Prior to Regis Baker comes to Regis after a decorated academic and athletic career at Eastern Connecticut State University, where she competed as a member of the Warriors’ softball program from 2021–2025. During her time at Eastern, Baker helped lead the program to a World Series appearance and an eighth-place national finish in 2022, as well as Little East Conference championships in 2022 and 2024. A team captain in 2025, she brought leadership both on and off the field. She concluded her career ranked fifth all-time in stolen bases with 59, including a standout 2022 season in which she swiped 27 bags, the fifth-most in a single season in program history. In addition to her athletic background, Baker has extensive experience working with youth in both recreational and instructional settings. She has served as a Supervisor with the Hudson Recreation Summer Program since 2021, where she plans age-appropriate activities, fosters a positive environment, and ensures camper safety. She has also coached Hudson Youth Softball teams at the 12U and 16U levels since 2017, developing players through instruction, feedback, and structured practice planning. Baker also completed a student teaching placement at Chaplin Elementary School in Chaplin, Connecticut, where she assumed daily classroom responsibilities and designed lessons across all subject areas for fifth- and sixth-gr
