Rider University Women's Track & Field

Director of Cross Country, Track & Field Bob Hamer begins his 17th season leading the Rider men's and women's cross country and track and field programs in 2024-25. In 16 years, Coach Hamer has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Coach of the Year 14 times. Hamer has coached athletes to 171 All-East performances, with his athletes breaking countless Rider records and winning over 200 MAAC gold medals. His teams have excelled in the classroom, with both men's and women's cross country teams earning the highest team grade point averages among Rider's 21 varsity sports. A 1995 graduate of Penn State, Hamer won the Big Ten Conference Championship in the 5000 meters and was a two-time All-American in the 1500 meters and distance medley relay. He earned his master's degree in Sports Administration from West Chester University in 2000. Hamer came to Rider from Saint Joseph's University, where he was an assistant coach, and previously served as head track & field coach at Devon Preparatory School. He is a USA Track & Field Level II certified coach for endurance events and has been a member of the USTFCCCA Division I Cross Country Executive Committee since 2009.
