Jim Turner

Biography

Jim Turner is in his first season as Rutgers' offensive line coach in 2026. Turner, a native of Boston, worked as offensive line coach in the NFL for four seasons, developed multiple draft picks at the collegiate level and has over 30 years of experience overall. TEXAS A&M • Turner had two stints at Texas A&M (2008-11, 2016-18). His offensive line helped Trayveon Williams lead the SEC in rushing yards (1,760), rushing touchdowns (18) and total touchdowns (19) in 2018. The two previous seasons, the offensive line helped the team that gain more than 2,000 rushing yards while also passing for 3,000-plus yards. The 2016 team appeared as high as No. 6 in the AP Poll. • In 2011, the Aggies allowed just nine sacks on 537 pass attempts and ranked in the top 25 nationally in total offense (seventh), scoring offense (11th), passing offense (18th) and rushing offense (24th). From 2009-11, the Aggies ranked among the nation’s top 25 teams in total offense, averaging more than 440 yards per game each season. The 2009 unit ranked No. 5 nationally at 465.8 yards per game, and the 2011 squad ranked seventh at 490.2. • Turner developed numerous offensive linemen who would go on to play in the NFL, including first-round picks Luke Joeckel (2013 No. 2 pick by Jacksonville Jaguars), Jake Matthews (2014 No. 6 overall pick by Atlanta Falcons) and Cedric Ogbuehi (2015 No. 21 overall pick by Cincinnati Bengals).
