Jimmy Gill

Biography

Jimmy Gill has worked with Rutgers football since 2013 and is in his fifth season as the primary communications contact for the program in 2025 after being promoted to associate athletic director. He first joined the athletic communications office in 2011 for one academic year before heading to Miami (Fla.) and returning to be part of Rutgers' transition to the Big Ten. Gill also served 11 seasons as the baseball contact and eight as the gymnastics contact for the Scarlet Knights. Gill was promoted from assistant director of athletic communications to associate director in June 2014 and was part of the 2014 staff that was honored by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) as a recipient of the Super 11 Award. Prior to coming back to RU, Gill worked at Miami (Fla.) as the volleyball and third football contact in the fall of 2012. The volleyball team successfully earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and Gill was named CoSIDA Division I Volleyball East Region Sports Information Director Honoree for his efforts along the way. After the football season, he worked as a media relations assistant for the Orange Bowl committee for its annual game and the BCS National Championship. During the 2011-2012 academic year, Gill served as athletic communications assistant at Rutgers as the contact for baseball, volleyball, women’s tennis and gymnastics. He successfully promoted the Big East Player of the Year for baseball in addition to expanding the social media presence
