Danielle DeMarco

Biography

Danielle DeMarco enters her fourth season as an assistant coach for Rutgers gymnastics in 2025-26. A former Rutgers gymnast from 2011-13, DeMarco (née D’Elia) previously served an assistant coach with the program from 2014-17 and has experience working with Elite level gymnasts. The 2025 campaign was a breakout one for the Scarlet Knights, with the program earning its first NCAA Championships appearance since 2014. DeMarco and fellow assistant Michael Rosso were both named WCGA Region 3 Assistant Coaches of the Year. DeMarco has helped lead Rutgers to new heights on the balance beam in her time as an assistant, mentoring four NCAA Regional qualifiers and helping the team set a new program record in the event. DeMarco helped Gabrielle Dildy and Rachael Riley both qualify for regionals in the event in 2025 as well as Stephanie Zannella and Hannah Joyner in 2023. Additionally, the Scarlet Knights set a program record of 49.400 on beam in 2023. DeMarco was part of the staff in 2014 that coached the squad to a berth in the NCAA Regionals as a team. RU registered six of the top 10 scores in program history at the time, including a school-record 196.225. DeMarco competed as a student-athlete for Rutgers gymnastics from 2011-13 and was named EAGL Second Team All-Floor Exercise twice. She recorded marks of 9.900 on both floor exercise and uneven bars during her career. In addition, D'Elia earned an individual spot at NCAA Regionals in 2011 and was named to the EAGL All-Academic Team.
