Assistant Coach
Coach Emily Kruger enters their fourth year a part of the Gaels coaching staff dating back to the 2022 season. As a player they were the starting goalkeeper at Cal from 2010-2013, posting 279 saves in almost 80 games played, a program record at the time. After graduating, Kruger played professionally for KR Reykjavik in Iceland for one season before joining Portland Thorns FC in the NWSL for two seasons. With the Thorns, Kruger played alongside former USWNT goalkeeper Adrianna Franch and 2014 FIFA Player of the Year Nadine Angerer. After retiring from professional soccer, Kruger joined Coaches Across Continents to lead coaching courses for hundreds of coaches in eight different countries. Eventually they settled into a local soccer club in Alexandria, Virginia where they worked with teams and goalkeepers from U9 to U19. The Redwood City native is thrilled to be back home in the Bay Area and join the coaching staff at Saint Mary's.

Assistant Coach
Mariah Cameron joined the Gaels coaching staff in February of 2023 as an assistant coach. Cameron brings not only her coaching experience to the Gaels but also more than 10 years of playing experience at the highest level of professional soccer. Her playing career began at Washington State University, where she played in 74 games throughout her four-year career with the Cougars. Although she played as a defender, Cameron wasn’t averse to scoring or assisting, recording one goal and three assists over the course of her collegiate career. After graduating from Washington State in 2012 with a BA in Psychology, Cameron turned pro, first playing stateside with the SF Nighthawks. After one season she took her talents abroad, first playing for Nottingham Forest WFC in England for one season before hopping across town to play a season at Notts County FC. During her time in Nottingham, Cameron continued her studies as well, earning her MA in Person-Centered Experimental Counseling and Psychotherapy from the University of Nottingham. Soon after Cameron left England she played one season for Lugano Femminile in the Swiss league. She then left for Italy and found a home in the Italian league, playing one season in the Serie B with the Ravenna Women. Her success there landed her a spot on one of the biggest clubs in Italy, Napoli, where she played in Italy’s Serie A from 2019-2021. Assistant Athletic Trainer (w. soccer, w. tennis)
Sally is in her second season with the Gaels after being hired in August of 2022. She oversees Women's Soccer and Women's Tennis. Sally comes from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where she spent a year with the Cheer and Dance teams. She graduated in 2021 with her Master's of Athletic Training from Oregon State University and completed her Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Sciences from Loyola Marymount University in 2018. As a Bay Area native, Sally is excited to be back in Northern California. She grew up in Marin County, where she played both soccer and basketball. Sally established her love for sports medicine in high school while being under the care of her athletic trainer there.
