Biography

Cate Goodman enters her first season as an assistant coach with San Diego State Lacrosse. She most recently was the Head Coach at California Polytechnic State University for the 2024-2025 season. She led a major program turnaround, guiding the team from a losing record to a Top 20 national ranking (18th in the nation) in just one season. During her time playing at Cal Poly, she was a player-coach from 2021-2023. She served as Club President and Vice President, managing scheduling, operations, game-day logistics and contributed to practice planning and team strategy, while also playing on the team and receiving first league defensive awards. Cate has also served as Head Coach for True California Attack and as a Varsity Assistant Coach at Acalanes High School from 2023-2024.
