Melita enters her second season with Smith College in 2025–26, bringing high-level experience as both a Division II national qualifier and coach in the throws events. She holds a B.S. in Sport Management with a Minor in Coaching from the University of West Georgia (2024). Her athletic career includes Division II National Qualifier status in Hammer (55.09m, school record) and Weight (17.89m), USTFCCCA All-Region honors in Hammer Throw, and All-GSC (Gulf South Conference) recognition. She was awarded All-Academic Team recognition for excellence in academics, leadership, and service, and received the Women's Career Achievement Award in 2024 from the University of West Georgia Athletic Department. Her coaching experience includes a coaching internship and student assistant throws coach position at the University of West Georgia, as well as volunteer assistant throws coach work at Carrollton High School.
