Macy Stanage

Biography

Macy Stanage (formerly Macy Miller) returned to Brookings for her second stint on AJ's staff and first as an assistant coach ahead of the 2024-25 season. She enters her third overall season on staff at South Dakota State in 2025-26. She is responsible for developing SDSU’s perimeter players, teaching team offense and defense and assisting with recruiting. In 2024-25, South Dakota State won its fifth straight regular season Summit League title and three-peated as the conference’s postseason champion. The Jackrabbits finished the year 30-4, reaching 30 wins for the second time in the Division I era and third time overall. SDSU knocked off three ranked teams - No. 21 Creighton, No. 21 Oregon and No. 17 Oklahoma State. The Jacks’ win over the seventh-seeded OSU Cowgirls came in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, 74-68, to put SDSU in the second round for the second time in three years. Brooklyn Meyer was deemed honorable mention All-America, was a finalist for the Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Award and landed on the All-Summit League first team in 2024-25. Paige Meyer was also conference first-team selection while Haleigh Timmer earned an honorable mention nod. Katie Vasecka was named to the Summit League all-freshman team. Brooklyn Meyer, Paige Meyer and Mesa Byom were three of five players named to the Summit League’s all-defensive team.
