Bobby Barbier

Biography

Veteran coach, and Louisiana native, Bobby Barbier was named the 18th head baseball coach in Southeastern history on June 5, 2023. Barbier guided Southeastern to the Southland Conference's 2025 regular-season title in his second season at the helm of the program, earning him conference Coach of the Year honors for the second time in his career. Seven players earned All-Conference honors as the Lions picked up their first conference title in a decade, tying the program's single-season record for home runs established during Barbier's initial season. In his first season at the helm, Barbier led SLU to its first winning record in three years (30-28) and established program single-season records for home runs and fan attendance along the way. The No. 6-seeded Lions picked up a pair of wins in the North Oaks Health System Southland Conference Baseball Championship, advancing to the semifinal round. Barbier previously served as the head coach at his alma mater, Northwestern State, from 2017-2023. During his seven-year tenure as the head baseball coach, Barbier left his imprint on the Northwestern State baseball program - from leading the Demons to their first Southland Conference Tournament championship in 2018 to coaching the first single-season trio of All-Americans in Demon baseball history. Eight Northwestern State players were drafted during Barbier's time at the helm, including a pitcher in each of his last five seasons. Between his two coaching stints at his alma mater, Barb
