Head Women's Soccer Coach
Todd Anckaitis, head coach of the Garnet since 2005, became the winningest coach in Swarthmore women's soccer's previous 23-year history after only five seasons at the helm. He has now brought the women's soccer program to the same level of national distinction as the college has attained for its academics. Over the past 19 seasons, the program has won 234 matches, has qualified for postseason play in 17 of those years and has produced a Rhodes Scholar, eight Scholar/Academic All-Americans, seven All-Americans (USC, D3Soccer.com), four Fulbright winners, 52 all-region athletes and 86 all-conference award recipients under Anckaitis' direction. In addition, the Garnet have won three Centennial Conference Championships, three ECAC Championships, and have made seven NCAA Tournament appearances, including six in a row from 2014-2019, going as far as the "Elite Eight" in the 2015 season and the "Sweet 16" in 2018. Under his leadership, Swarthmore has played in 54 post-season matches with a .574 winning percentage (28-20-6). Prior to Swarthmore, Anckaitis reestablished the Lewis and Clark College women's soccer program which had been dormant since 1990. He earned a master of science in exercise and sports studies at Smith College and served as an assistant coach at Amherst College. Anckaitis graduated from Lafayette College in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and served nine years as an officer in the Army National Guard.
