Audrey Murphy

Assistant Coach

Audrey Murphy joined the Orange rowing program as an assistant coach in October 2025. Prior to joining Syracuse, Murphy served as the head coach for St. John's College High School's Girls Varsity Crew in Washington, D.C., where she led the program to its most successful season in its 14-year history. At St. John's, Murphy managed and mentored both varsity and novice athletes while overseeing program operations and assisting with an annual budget. Under her leadership, the program achieved breakthrough performances at the WMIRA Championships and Stotesbury Cup Time Trials, and qualified two boats to SRAA Nationals for the first time in program history, with the Girls Junior 4+ finishing sixth nationally. Murphy's coaching career began immediately following her distinguished athletic career at The Ohio State University, where she was a varsity coxswain from 2020 to 2024. A walk-on with no prior rowing experience, Murphy quickly established herself as a leader, helping guide her crew to Big Ten Championships in her freshman and sophomore years. She competed at the NCAA Championships in 2023 and 2024 and earned Scholar Athlete honors all four years, including CRCA Scholar Athlete recognition in 2024. She graduated from The Ohio State University in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, minoring in Anatomy, and maintained a 3.7 GPA.
