Dan Lobacz

Biography

Dan Lobacz started in his role as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Communications on August 29, 2024. Lobacz joins the Owls from La Salle University, where he served as the Associate Athletic Director for External Relations. In his new role at Temple, Lobacz will oversee all aspects of strategic communications, including media relations and social media for the university's athletic programs. His extensive experience in external relations and strategic communications will be instrumental in enhancing the visibility and reputation of Temple Athletics. At La Salle University, Lobacz was responsible for overseeing the athletic department's external relations team, which included communications, marketing, corporate sponsorships, digital media, and social media. He played a key role in promoting the university's athletic programs and enhancing their public profile. Lobacz brings a wealth of experience to Temple, having previously worked at Long Island University in Brooklyn, where he managed communications, marketing, and promotional efforts for the school's 19 Division I sport programs. His background also includes serving as the main media contact for the LIU Brooklyn men's basketball team during their run to a third straight NCAA Tournament. Lobacz holds a degree from Syracuse University and has been recognized for his contributions to the field of athletic communications.
