Head Coach
As Bonnie Rosen concludes her 20th season at the helm of Temple lacrosse in 2026, her contributions to the sport and to the community continue to be recognized by many. In her time on North Broad Street, Rosen, a 2010 US Lacrosse Hall of Fame inductee, and 2021 Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame inductee, has guided the Owls to significant achievements on the field and through valuable growth experiences off the field. She was the 18th winningest active head coach in NCAA Division I women's lacrosse with 225 career wins at the conclusion of the 2024 season. In 2025, the Owls finished with a 4–12 overall record and a 2–4 mark in American Conference play. Kat Bielinski, Erin King, and Sarah Gowman earned postseason All-Conference honors, each being named to the Second Team. 2024 saw the Owls return to the American Athletic Conference Tournament with a 9-7 overall record and 4-2 mark in regular season play. Numerous Owls broke program records and earned school, conference, regional, and national awards, including the 43rd All-American in program history. Six players were named All-AAC, with Katie Shallow being named Defensive Player of the Year and Belle Mastropietro earning her third consecutive Midfielder of the Year honor. As a graduate student in 2025, Carolyn Thistlewaite capped off her career as a standout defender for James Madison University, earning Second Team All-American Athletic Conference honors. She started all 19 games, ranking second on the team with 26 ground balls and adding 14 caused turnovers, including seven games with multiple ground balls and four with multiple caused turnovers. A consistent academic achiever, she was named to the JMU Athletic Director’s Scholar-Athlete List in both Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. When faced with a major injury missing the 2024 season, she remained deeply engaged with her team by supporting operations and contributing to strategy, earning recognition as JMU Comeback Athlete of the Year. Professionally, she has supported club lacrosse operations, NCAA game-day logistics, and athlete development, managing schedules for more than 250 athletes and 40 coaches while ensuring smooth and efficient game-day experiences. Thistlewaite has held the head coaching position at Dynasty Elite Lacrosse Club for six years, training 18-23 high school athletes on defensive strategies. A native of New Hope-Solebury High School, she was the program’s all-time leading scorer with 194 goals, a Bicentennial Athletic League MVP, and a 2019 U.S. Lacrosse U-17 Development Team member. Associate Head Coach
Cat Rainone has been promoted to Associate Head Coach after serving the past two seasons as an assistant coach with the program to being the 2026 season. The Owls concluded the 2025 season ranked 46th in the nation in ground balls per game (16.94), 50th in caused turnovers per game (8.44), and 35th in save percentage (.450). Goalkeeper Taylor Grollman finished second in the American Athletic Conference with 144 saves. Sabrina Martin ranked fifth in the conference in ground balls per game (2.13), while Kat Bielinski placed fourth with (2.19) ground balls per game. The Owls finished the 2024 season 21st in the country in goals allowed (9.88), sixth in ground balls (20.94 per game), and third in caused turnovers (11.69 per game). Rainone helped Katie Shallow earn the program's first AAC Defensive Player of the Year award, as well as All-AAC First Team honors for Maddie Barber and goalie Taylor Grollman. Shallow and Barber were first and second in the conference and among the nation's leaders in caused turnovers and ground balls, while Grollman finished the season Top 20 nationally in save percentage and goals against average. Executive Senior Associate AD/Compliance and Student Affairs (WBB, Lax)
Kristy Bannon was promoted to Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and Student Affairs in August 2022. This is the fourth promotion for Bannon, who has worked in compliance and student services for Temple Athletics since 2008. She has recently served in the role of Senior Associate AD/Compliance & Student-Athlete Affairs since July 2017. In her role, she oversees all aspects of the department's compliance efforts with conference and NCAA rules and regulations. She works to educate coaches, administrators and student-athletes in regards to new rules and regulations as well as the processing of NCAA and conference waivers on behalf of student-athletes. She also oversees all student-athlete welfare and life skill development programming which includes the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Student-Athlete Affairs Program. Also the varsity sport administrator for women's gymnastics and women's lacrosse, she continues to serve as the liaison with the University's Student Affairs Office. First promoted from compliance coordinator to assistant director in 2013, she was elevated again in 2015 to Associate Athletic Director status. The Wilkes-Barre, Pa. native started her career at Temple as the department's graduate extern while pursuing a master's degree in sport and recreation administration.
