Shaun Keenan

Biography

Shaun Keenan was named the 14th head men's tennis head coach at the College of Wooster in summer 2024. He came to Wooster after serving as the director of racquets at Fairlawn Country Club in Akron and director of racquets at Paramount Tennis Club in Medina, positions he held for over 10 years. Keenan brought plenty of Division III tennis experience, having been the head men's and women's tennis coach at John Carroll for 13 years from 2010-22. During his tenure at John Carroll, he won 11 Ohio Athletic Conference championships and was a five-time OAC Coach of the Year. He was named the 2022 United States Professional Tennis Association Midwest College Coach of the Year and the 2017 Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Women's Central Region Coach of the Year. He made 11 NCAA Division III Championships appearances—six on the men's side and five on the women's side. As director of racquets, Keenan developed United States Tennis Association adult teams and junior interclub programs while teaching all levels and ages of tennis and pickleball. He is a USPTA Elite Professional 1 and a USPTA/IFP Academy certified pickleball instructor. Keenan earned a bachelor's degree in international business from Wichita State University in 1998 and an MBA from the University of Louisiana in 2000.
