Jolyta Fuller

Biography

Jolyta Fuller serves as the head coach for both the cross country and track and field programs. Fuller enters her fourth season at the helm of the cross country program after assuming the reigns in the summer of 2022, becoming the ninth head coach in program history. Additionally, she is in her seventh season as head coach of the Skyhawk track and field program after becoming the fifth head coach in the program’s Division I history back the fall of 2019. Fuller made history when she was elevated to head coach after spending three seasons as an assistant coach with the UT Martin track and field programs. Fuller, then 25, was the youngest female African American head coach in UT Martin and Ohio Valley Conference history while ranking amongst the nation’s youngest head coaches. During her time at UT Martin, Fuller has been critical in the development of a reintroduced program after over a decade hiatus. During her tenure, UT Martin has seen the roster consistently grow to over 50 members while recording numerous school records. The 2022 season showed the program's continued ascension as the Skyhawks posted their highest finishes in the OVC Indoor and Outdoor Championships, respectively. During the outdoor season UT Martin's men finished fourth in the championship with 73 total points - it's best finish in the championship - while the women's team came in ninth with four points.
