First Season at Texas | 21st Season as Collegiate Head Coach A proven and consistent winner with 20 years of experience as a head coach at Xavier University and the University of Arizona, Sean Miller was named the 27th head coach in Men’s Basketball program history at The University of Texas on March 24, 2025. Miller, 56, has posted a 487-196 (.713) on-court record in 20 seasons as a collegiate head coach and claimed eight regular-season conference titles and four conference tournament championships. He has guided teams to 13 NCAA Tournament appearances, including four trips to the Elite Eight and eight to the Sweet 16. Miller has compiled a 22-13 (.629) on-court record in NCAA Tournament contests, including a 13-7 mark at Arizona and 9-6 at Xavier. Miller spent the last three seasons (2022-25) in his second stint as the head coach at Xavier University. He previously served as head coach at Xavier for five years (2004-09). During his eight total seasons with the Musketeers, Miller compiled an overall record of 185-87 (.680). He led Xavier to six NCAA Tournament appearances, including three trips to the Sweet 16 (2008, 2009 and 2023) and one to the Elite Eight (2008). Miller served for 12 seasons (2009-21) as head coach at Arizona and registered an overall on-court mark of 302-109 (.735). Cam Miller begins his first season as Video Analytics Coordinator for Men's Basketball at The University of Texas. Miller brings four years of full-time collegiate experience to the Texas staff and has spent a total of seven seasons working directly with Sean Miller at both Xavier University and the University of Arizona. Miller spent the previous three years (2022-25) at Xavier in the role of Director of Operations. During those three seasons, the Musketeers posted an overall record of 65-40 (.619) and made a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances including a trip to the Sweet 16 in 2023. Xavier registered a 22-12 overall record (13-7 BIG EAST) and advanced to the NCAA Tournament First Round during the 2024-25 season. In 2022-23, the Musketeers went 27-10 overall, tied the school record for most BIG EAST wins in a season (15-5) and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16. Miller began his coaching career as a graduate assistant for one season (2021-22) at Saint Mary's College (Calif.) for Randy Bennett. The Gaels registered a 26-8 overall mark, finished second in the West Coast Conference (12-3), reached the NCAA Tournament Round of 32 and were tabbed No. 18 in the final Associated Press national rankings. Giles Gilliam is in his third year as Graduate Assistant with the men's basketball program at The University of Texas. During his first two years in Austin, the Longhorns have registered a 40-29 overall record and made a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances. Texas posted a 19-16 record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament First Four in the 2024-25 season. The Longhorns recorded seven Quad 1 wins and five victories against AP-ranked opponents. The Longhorns tallied a 21-13 record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Round of 32 in 2023-24. Prior to coming to Austin, Gilliam served as a graduate assistant for two years (2021-23) at UTEP for head coach Joe Golding. During the 2021-22 season, the Miners posted a 20-14 overall record (12-6 Conference USA) to register their first 20-win season since earning a 22-11 mark in 2014-15. Gilliam also worked as a volunteer assistant for one season (2020-21) at Mary Hardin-Baylor for head coach Clif Carroll. The Crusaders tallied a 16-4 overall record (13-0 American Southwest Conference) and won the ASC West Division title. Gilliam concluded his collegiate playing career under Carroll at Sul Ross State (Alpine, Texas) during the 2019-20 season. He saw action in 23 games (five starts) and played 237 total minutes while helping Sul Ross post a 17-10 overall record (13-3 ASC). First Season at Texas Kenya Hunter begins his first season as Assistant Coach at The University of Texas. Hunter brings 27 years of Division I coaching experience to the Texas staff, including three seasons working directly with Sean Miller at Xavier University. During his collegiate coaching career, Hunter has helped 13 teams advance to the NCAA Tournament and two squads reach the postseason NIT. He has also developed 20 players who have seen game action in the NBA. Hunter spent the previous five years (2020-25) on Mike Woodson’s staff at Indiana University, including the last three seasons in the role of associate head coach. During his time in Bloomington, the Hoosiers made a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances and registered a 94-68 (.580) overall record. In the 2022-23 season, Indiana posted a 23-12 mark, tied for second in the Big Ten (12-8), advanced to the NCAA Tournament Round of 32 and finished the year at No. 21 in the final Associated Press poll. Trayce Jackson-Davis earned consensus first-team All-America honors, a first for a Hoosier player in 10 years, and won the Karl Malone Award as the nation’s top power forward. Jalen Hood-Schifino claimed Big Ten Freshman of the Year accolades. Zac Jennings begins his first season as Graduate Assistant with the men's basketball program at The University of Texas. Jennings was a four-year member (2020-24) of the basketball team at Bellarmine University (Louisville, Ky.). A four-time selection to the Atlantic Sun Conference Honor Roll, Jennings helped the Knights win the ASUN Tournament championship during his sophomore season in 2021-22. He was an ASUN Honors Graduate and earned his bachelor's degree in Sport and Fitness Administration/Management from Bellarmine University in May 2024. Following graduation, Jennings served for 10 months as a full-time substitute teacher for Boone County Schools in Florence, Ky. A native of Burlington, Ky., Jennings played basketball at Cooper High School. He helped his team win three district championships and served as team captain during his senior year. During his freshman season, Jennings earned a spot on the All-Region Tournament Team as Cooper won the 9th Region title and advanced to the state championship game while posting a 31-5 record. He also played baseball for three years in high school.
