Head Coach

Assistant Coach
David Styles joins the Gator staff as an assistant coach in January 2026. Styles reunites with Florida associate head coach Jonathan Garbar, with whom he previously worked at both Florida International and Franklin Pierce. Styles served as an assistant coach at FIU during the 2020 and 2021 seasons after Garbar was named head coach of the Panthers in 2020. They Said: “We are so excited to welcome David to Gator Nation. I can’t wait to help build a new brand of Gator Soccer that competes every day while striving for excellence in everything we do.” Florida Assistant Coach David Styles Prior to FIU, Styles spent five seasons on Garbar’s staff at Franklin Pierce University, rising to the role of top assistant during the 2018-19 season. In that role, he helped guide the Ravens to the 2018 Northeast-10 Conference championship, one of the nation’s most competitive Division II women’s soccer leagues. Franklin Pierce also earned a berth in the 2018 NCAA Division II Championship Tournament, advancing to the second round. Styles began his tenure at Franklin Pierce as a graduate assistant from 2016-17. During the 2017 season, the Ravens made their first NCAA Division II Tournament appearance since 2010. Associate Head Coach
Jonathan Garbar joins the Gators in December of 2025 as associate head coach after a highly successful 2025 season at Mississippi State. Garbar oversees Florida's team play, player and program development, and international recruitment strategies. Garbar arrives in Gainesville with a track record of rapid program transformation and sustained competitive success across Division I, Division II and junior college soccer. He held the same associate head coach title at Mississippi State, where in 2025 the Bulldogs advanced to the Southeastern Conference Tournament semifinal and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament. MSU was one of only four programs nationally to record three wins over top-10 opponents during the 2025 season. They Said: "I am honored to continue my journey alongside Coach Nick Zimmerman, and contribute to the mission of driving Gator Soccer back to national prominence.
