Biography

Whitney Hite enters his eighth season with the Gators coaching staff in 2025-26 and his first year serving as the Senior Associate Head Coach for both the men’s and women’s swimming programs.. Hite has compiled 27 years of collegiate coaching experience with some of the nation’s top swimming and diving programs. Coaching Highlights: 2024 Paris Olympic Assistant Coach for Team USA USA Swimming National Team coach 2011-2016, 2018, 2022 USA Swimming 2012 Short course World Championships men’s assistant coach USA Swimming 2015 World Championships men’s assistant coach USA Swimming 2017 World University Games men’s head coach Hite’s Coaching Career: At Florida: The 2024-25 season marked another historic chapter for Florida women’s swimming and diving, as the Gators earned sixth-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Championships. The result secured the program’s first stretch of three consecutive NCAA top-10 finishes since 2013-15, following a third-place showing in 2024 and ninth in 2023. 16 Gators qualified for NCAA Championships, where 11 Gators combined for 31 All-American honors. Throughout the season, Florida set seven school records and posted 29 top-10 program times. Bella Sims reset multiple records in the freestyle and backstroke events, while Anita Bottazzo became the fastest Gator in the 100 breaststroke.
