In January 2025, he was named Outside Edges & Run-Game Coordinator. The 2026 season will be his third with the Cougars. Ross came to Houston from Tulane where he spent the 2023 season as Senior Defensive Analyst. • In 2025, Ross tutored a second-straight Cougar edge defender to All-Conference honors with Eddie Walls III earning All-Big 12 Second Team honors in his lone season at Houston. Walls led the Cougars with 7.0 sacks and 11.5 TFLs while assisting Houston’s run-stop core with a 6.2% run-stop rate, top 100 nationally among edge rushers. Walls ranked fifth in the Big 12 in sacks and sixth in TFLs. • In 2024, Ross III's unit played a key role in a Houston defense which ranked 26th nationally and 18th in the Power Four in total defense (324.8).
