Michael Bishop

Biography

Michael Bishop was hired as an Offensive Assistant in December 2025 ahead of Houston's appearance in the 2025 Kinder's Texas Bowl following five seasons as the head coach at Legacy the School of Sport Sciences in Spring, Texas. In five seasons at Legacy, the Titans went 36-21 where he coached incoming five-star quarterback Keisean Henderson for four seasons where the two will reconnect in 2026. Bishop, who played high school football at Willis High School in Willis, Texas, enters the collegiate coaching ranks for the first time in his career and reunites with Coach Fritz after playing under him at Blinn College for two seasons from 1995-96. Bishop helped lead Blinn to back-to-back undefeated seasons, going 24-0 in route to winning consecutive NJCAA championships. A dual-threat talent, he passed for over 2,500 yards while rushing for over 500 yards with a combined 34 touchdowns through the air and ground. Following one season of collegiate baseball at Independence Community College in 1997, Bishop played quarterback at Kansas State where he was recruited by Bill Snyder. Bishop went on to start 25 games through two seasons in Manhattan, Kan., where he passed for just over 4,400 yards and 36 touchdowns as well as 1,300 rushing yards and 23 scores, breaking school records and collecting all-conference honors.
