Head Coach / Director of UIndy Tennis Center
Entering his fourteenth season at the helm of the UIndy tennis programs, Malik Tabet (pronounced tuh-BAY) has the Greyhounds in the national spotlight and atop the ranks of the Great Lakes Valley Conference and the Midwest region. He has solidified a standard of success to both the men's and women's tennis programs, achieving a long list of accolades under his direction. To date, Tabet has led the Hounds to 16 Midwest ITA Regional individual championships, 17 NCAA Tournament appearances, 11 total trips to the NCAA round of 16 (men's and women's programs had never reached round of 16 prior to Tabet's tenure), program-first trips to the NCAA semifinals for both the men's and women's programs, and 14 GLVC Tournament championships. As a student-athlete himself, Tabet played a significant role in propelling the University of Mobile (Ala.) to the 1997 NAIA National Championship. Tabet reached as high as fifth in the nation in singles, and 12th in doubles for the Rams during their championship season. After transferring to the University of West Florida his senior season, Tabet helped the Argonauts earn the 1999 Gulf South Conference Championship and a third-place finish at the 1999 NCAA Division II National Tournament. Tabet also enjoyed a standout career as an international player, competing for the Algerian National Team from 1991-95, as well as the Algerian Davis Cup team. He won more than 90 tournaments in France and won the 1995 Sham International Tennis Open in Damascus, Syri
