Brian Reader

Biography

Brian Reader is in his second season as a quality control coach after an illustrious playing and coaching career at the University of Idaho. He spent the last two seasons working with the quarterbacks. In 2024, Reader worked closely with Tyler Shough, who threw for 3,195 yards and 23 touchdowns in his lone season with the Cards. Prior to coming to Louisville, Reader most recently served as the running backs coach and recruiting coordinator for the 2022 season at the University of Northern Colorado. Before moving to Greeley, he served in a variety of roles at Idaho from 2016-21 after working his way up from a graduate assistant position to the offensive coordinator job in his final season with the Vandals. Reader also played quarterback in the Arena Football league from 2013-15 after playing the position at Idaho for three seasons. He also played at Arkansas and Monterey Peninsula College. He holds two degrees from his time at Idaho, earning a master of science in adult organizational learning and leadership in 2017 and a bachelor's degree in general studies in 2010.
