A 2018 Lynchburg graduate, Moore spent four years in the Hornets' program as a relief pitcher. He graduated with a degree in philosophy and, in 2023, obtained his master's in clinical rehabilitation and mental health counseling through West Virginia University. Moore works with the rest of Lynchburg's coaching staff to implement an analytics-based system for Hornet baseball designed to help each player in the program maximize their potential.
