Paris Vaughan

Biography

Paris Vaughan was named the assistant track and field/cross country coach at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in July of 2025. Vaughan previously coached at Lenoir-Rhyne, where he developed multiple conference champions including Philip Stoemne, Melody Jones, Sharonda Priester, and Clarence McGill. Under his guidance, Jones earned an Indoor All-American finish in the 60m hurdles, while the men's team produced two All-Americans in McGill and Jacob Wadsworth during the outdoor season. Vaughan's athletes set numerous school records and were the first LR athletes to advance to national championships in several events. Prior to Lenoir-Rhyne, Vaughan coached at his alma mater, Alderson Broaddus, from 2019 to 2023, where he coached six conference champions and oversaw 95% of the school's records being broken in just four years. As a student-athlete at Alderson Broaddus from 2015 to 2018, Vaughan competed in multiple events and won conference championships in the 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 4x100m, and 4x400m. He graduated with a Bachelor's in Sport Management and later competed as a graduate student at Indiana (Pa.) University before entering the coaching profession. Originally from Largo, Maryland, Vaughan has been named Southeast Region Indoor and Outdoor Women's Coach of the Year and South Atlantic Conference Women's Indoor Coach of the Year.
