Paris Vaughan

Biography

Paris Vaughan was named the assistant track and field/cross country coach at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in July of 2025. Vaughan previously coached at Lenoir-Rhyne, where he developed multiple conference champions including Philip Stoemne (indoor pole vault, heptathlon and decathlon), Melody Jones (100m hurdles), Sharonda Priester (400m hurdles), and Clarence McGill (400m hurdles). Under his guidance, Jones earned an Indoor All-American finish in the 60m hurdles while the men's team had two All-Americans during the outdoor season. Vaughan also coached at Alderson Broaddus from 2019 to 2023, his alma mater, where he coached six conference champions and oversaw 95% of the school's records being broken in just four years. As a student-athlete at Alderson Broaddus from 2015 to 2018, Vaughan won conference championships in the 110m hurdles (2016 & 2017), 400m hurdles (2016), 4x100m (2016), and 4x400m (2017), before competing as a graduate student at Indiana (Pa.) University. Originally from Largo, Maryland, Vaughan holds a Bachelor's degree in Sport Management and has received numerous coaching accolades including Southeast Region Indoor and Outdoor Women's Coach of the Year and South Atlantic Conference Women's Indoor Coach of the Year.
