Jim Rogalski

Biography

Jim Rogalski is in his ninth season with the Wolverines and his sixth as the associate head coach. Rogalski serves as the defensive coordinator and works with the goalies. The 2025 campaign saw Rogalski's defense allow just 129 goals for a 9.08 goals-against average, both program bests at Michigan. The Wolverine defense also killed off .244 percent of penalities, another season-best in the U-M record books. Rogalski guided two players into the top three for most caused turnovers in the Big Ten with Mason Whitney and Pace Billings finishing tied for third in the conference at 24 takeaways apiece. Billings stood out on the defensive end under Rogalski's leadership earning All-American nods from USA Lacrosse Magazine (second team), USILA (third team), Inside Lacrosse (third team). He was also first team All-Big Ten selection. In the cage, junior Hunter Taylor put together a standout 2025 season with Rogalski allowing just 9.34 goals-against on average, the best individual mark in program history. Rogalski and his defense kept opponents to just 11.24 goals per game which marked a new low for the Michigan program in the 2024 campaign en route to the teams second-straight Big Ten Tournament title and NCAA postseason berth. The Wolverine defense had two of the top five players in the conference as Cathal Roberts paced the B1G with 28 caused turnovers and Jack Whitney ranked fifth with 17 caused turnovers on the season, while the team led the conference with 151 takeaways.
