Prior to arriving in Ann Arbor, she spent 13 years as recreation coordinator with the Highlands Ranch Metro District in Colorado. Garrett played collegiate softball at the North Dakota State University (2005-06) and Otero Junior College (2003-04). She was named the 2006 Independent Pitcher of the Year and a two-time All-Independent honoree (2005, '06) while at NDSU. Brundage helped lead the Wolverines to back-to-back Big Ten Tournament titles and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2024 and 2025. The Wolverines avenged a pair of regular-season sweeps to shut out both No. 4 Oregon (5-0) and No. 9 UCLA (2-0) in the 2025 Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals and championship game, respectively, before falling to eventual NCAA champion Texas in the Austin Regional. Wolverine pitchers Lauren Derkowski and Erin Hoehn were both named to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team -- Derkowski the Most Outstanding Player for the second straight year -- after combining for a 0.75 ERA, 18 strikeouts and a .202 batting average over 28 total innings. In 2024, the Wolverines posted a 43-18 record behind a remarkable second-half turnaround, which featured wins in 33 of their final 42 games. U-M captured the Big Ten Tournament title after taking second in the conference's regular-season standings and led all teams with four All-Big Ten first team honorees. Among the first-teamers was Derkowski, who was named the Big Ten Tournament Most Outstanding Player after throwing all 19 innings over U-M's three tournament games.
