Steven Rajewsky

Biography

Steven Rajewsky enters his 12th season as an assistant coach for the University of Michigan track and field team in the 2024-25 season, overseeing the Wolverine sprinters and hurdlers. Rajewsky by the Numbers • Has coached two World Championships finalists • Has coached one NCAA champion (Savannah Sutherland, 400H, 2023 & 2025) • Has coached 61 Michigan student-athletes to NCAA All-America honors • Has coached 33 Big Ten Champions • Has coached student-athletes to 36 broken Michigan program records and six Big Ten records • Has coached student-athletes to two top-10 NCAA All-Time marks (Savannah Sutherland, 400H, 52.46, No. 1; Josh Zeller, 110H, 13.19, No. 7) • Has coached his athletes to 124 all-conference honors, including 29 at Michigan • Has helped student-athletes advance to the NCAA Championships on 31 occasions at Michigan • Has been a member of 18 conference title-winning teams as an athlete and coach AT MICHIGAN • In 2025, Savannah Sutherland and Aasia Laurencin had podium finishes at the Big Ten Indoor Championships and NCAA Indoor Championships. Laurencin finished second in the 60-meter hurdles at Big Tens, setting the St. Lucia national record (7.97), and finishing sixth at NCAAs (8.09). Sutherland picked up the 400-meter dash conference title for the second straight year (51.74) before a personal-best fourth-place finish (51.23) at NCAAs to set the program and Canadian national record. Earlier in the season, Sutherland also set the program’s 200-meter dash record
